Bond House - Celebrating 150 Years of History

Some buildings hold more than bricks and mortar…..

This week, a commemorative plaque was unveiled at Bond House in Newbury, marking a chapter of local history that deserves to be told. From 1875 to 1974, this site was home to Elliotts of Newbury — a factory that at its peak employed 500 people from the community, built components for Spitfire fighter planes, and sent gliders to support the D-Day landings.

National history, made right here. The BBC covered the unveiling, shining a well-deserved spotlight on the people and the place that contributed so much during one of Britain's most defining periods.

We're proud that Bond House now carries that legacy forward. Different work, but still a place where people come together and something meaningful gets built!

Here's to the next chapter. 🏛️
