BSR Announces New Risk-Based Approach to Higher-Risk Buildings.
The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) has announced a more proportionate and targeted approach to assessing higher-risk buildings – a positive step towards a system that focuses on the buildings where the risks are greatest.
For those responsible for managing higher-risk buildings, navigating the regulatory landscape hasn't always been straightforward. This updated approach recognises that while robust building safety standards must remain the priority, the assessment process also needs to be practical, efficient and focused on achieving the right outcomes.
'At Fortem, we welcome any changes that help reduce unnecessary complexity while keeping residents safe. A more risk-based approach should allow building owners and accountable persons to concentrate their efforts where they can make the biggest difference, supported by clearer guidance and a more streamlined assessment process '. Darren (Founder of Fortem).
As the industry continues to adapt to the evolving Building Safety Act requirements, we're committed to helping our clients navigate these changes with confidence and deliver safe, compliant buildings for the people who live in them.
